9 Beauty Trends That Will Be *Huge* in 2016
Take notes.
"New
year, new everything" tends to be a universal beauty philosophy come
January 1. So, to ensure you've got a handle on it all, we're
forecasting the hair and makeup trends primed to blow up your Instagram
feed over the next 12 months.
From youthful sprouty brows to Kylie-worthy statement nails, there's a look for everyone. And if you're more casual observer than beauty obsessive, consider this your way of freaking out your friends when they realize you're even more ahead of the trends than they are.

1 Wig Play
Yes, Kylie Jenner is the queen of wigs, but as Gigi Hadid proved at the AMAs,
it doesn't have to mean a drastic color change. The supermodel tricked
us all into thinking she went for the chop, when in reality it was
clever-as-a-fox hairstylist Bryce Scarlett who used a partial wig on the
back of her head to give her the bob look.
Whether bold and candy-colored like one of Jenner's hair pieces or a bit more deceiving like Hadid's, there's bound to be even more wig play come award's season.

2 Bronze Lids
Sunset-worthy shades were all over the runways (Adam Selman, Michael Kors, Derek Lam). Not to mention, we recently learned
from legendary makeup artist and chemist Ida Gàl-Csiszar that warm
matte tones enhance every eye color. No matter what season, it adds a
touch of warmth.

3 Embellished Parts
From the gold leaf hair trend to Kate Bosworth's Coachella-perfect braided center part,
the great divide is finally getting some love. At the rate Instagram
trends are moving, we expect to see a flurry of new ways to embellish
both our side and center parts—making them the pièce de résistance of
our hairstyles.
Yup, still not going anywhere—even Kate Middleton slashed off her signature long locks and got in on the action. We were certain that 2015, which we hailed The Year of Lob,
would be the end of it, but as J.Law, Adele, Khloé Kardashian, and many
more are proving, its universally-flattering, low-maintenance appeal is
just too good to pass up. Give it an of-the-moment remix with choppy
texture (hello razor cut!) or swaggy bangs like T-Swift.
5 Stiletto Nails
Between detailing the ins and outs of her daily beauty routine on her app and releasing her hotly-anticipated lip kit,
Kylie Jenner has become a beauty icon. And while she's known for her
lips, her razor-sharp digits are inspiring legions on women to tap into
acrylics like they did the in the '80s and '90s. The 2016 update?
Instead of square or rounded shapes, go for pointed stiletto-like talons.
6 The Twist
The
twist, like this one from Public School Spring 2016 = the new braid.
And for those who are, ahem, braid-challenged, rest assured that it's
much easier to achieve, as you merely have to divide a ponytail in half
and twist the sections around each other. Easy. Olivia Palermo already took on the look and it was chiiiiiiic.

7 Faux Freckles
Freckles
are gaining more and more traction on the runways as a soft, sun-kissed
touch for the complexion. And let's face it, the young-looking flecks
offset the caked-on feel of a heavy contour. While you can dot them on
with a eyeliner or brown pen, we're loving Freck Yourself, an L.A.-based company that's created a 72-piece stencil kit for natural-looking specks.

8 Boyish Brow Sprouts
Due in no small part to the release of Glossier's genius Boy Brow pomade,
sprouts (the hairs that stick up and out at the beginning of the brow)
will be brushed up in 2016. Yet another secret to the sneaky no-makeup
makeup look, the flyaway hairs are inherently youthful to boot.
